How do your donations help?
Our project at Four Mothers Collective is to establish a dedicated, accessible space on the Mvskoke Reservation where BIPOC women, girls, and Two-Spirit individuals can gather monthly to participate in workshops, classes, and community events. This space will serve as a creative hub for cultural expression, skill-building, and connection, addressing the unique challenges these communities face in the art world.

Through this project, we will offer monthly workshops covering traditional and contemporary art forms, herbal medicine, storytelling, and traditional crafts, along with skill-building in grant writing, professional development, and other practices. Our annual art exhibition will also provide an opportunity for members to showcase their work to a broader audience, highlighting the collective’s impact and amplifying Indigenous and BIPOC voices.

The funding will help support:
1. Educators and Mentors – Compensation for community educators, artists, and cultural practitioners who will lead workshops.

2. Creative Supplies and Resources – Materials and supplies for workshops and individual projects, reducing financial barriers for participants.

3. Space Rental and Maintenance – Costs for a dedicated venue where members can gather, create, and hold events in a safe and consistent environment.

4. Participant Support – Transportation assistance for those who may otherwise face barriers in attending, ensuring inclusivity and access for all.

By providing a reliable and supportive environment for creative expression, our project will empower our members, strengthen cultural connections, and support the success of BIPOC artists in the art world.
