Carly Treece.
Carly Treece (she/her) is a Citizen of Mvskoke Nation and of Cherokee ancestry. She is multidisciplinary artist and curator residing on the Mvskoke Nation. With a multimedia approach that centers around oil and cold wax, her work focuses on abstract landscapes that capture the emotional and spiritual connection she shares with the land in Indian Territory. Beyond the aesthetic aspects of her work, Treece’s artistic practice serves a deeper purpose. Advocating for land and body sovereignty, she weaves these themes into her artwork, promoting the importance of these issues within Indigenous communities. By intertwining her artistic expression with her advocacy, Treece seeks to inspire dialogue and bring attention to the critical matters of land and body sovereignty. Although Treece's work extends beyond landscapes alone, her abstract landscapes serve as a powerful medium for expressing her artistic vision and her commitment to advocating for these crucial causes.
